Exploring provides exciting activities and one-on-one mentorship for youth looking to discover their future. Whether you’re a local organization looking to strengthen the community or a young person wanting to uncover the possibilities of your future, Exploring is a great place to start.
What is Exploring?
Exploring is Learning for Life's career education program, which is offered through the Boy Scouts of America, for young men and women ages 14 through 20 years old. Adults that are part of local posts are selected by the Mason-Dixon Council for involvement in the program.
Exploring's purpose is to provide experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of independence in their personal relationships and communities. Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities. Local community organizations initiate an Exploring program by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop. Exploring programs can specialize in a variety of career skills.
